Rietvlei Nature Reserve

Gauteng has some true gems very few seem to know about, Rietvlei Nature reserve is one of such gems. Only 70 Km from the west of Johannesburg, R60 gets you in and allows some true peace and tranquility. Rietvlei boasts a wide variety of animals, including Hippo, Cheetah, Buffalo, and Zebra. A haven for bird watchers with incredible and very well maintained hides, thanks to the Friends of Rietvlei Nature Reserve.

Recommended by numerous photographers, my mom and I have made this our little escape place. We adventure out there as often as possible, just to enjoy the silence and get away from the fast-paced Johannesburg life.

Let my images do the speaking, but a really awesome place to venture to, to get away from the humdrum daily ritual we call life. Link for more information below.

It also offers some of the most incredible Sunrises and sunsets. The perfect way to begin or end off a day.
